  1. 1Toast the bread

    Toast 2 slices of sourdough bread until golden and crisp. If it's a bagel or muffin, split it first.

  2. 2Layer the protein

    Lay 5 slices of deli turkey on the toast.

  3. 3Spread it

    Spread 1/2 of avocado across the hot toast — mash the avocado with a fork if using.

  4. 4Add cheese

    Lay 1 slice of cheese on top while the toast is still hot so it gets melty.

  5. 5Eat immediately

    Eat right away while the toast is still crispy.
